BACK TO SCHOOL: 5 Things To Pray Over Your Kids This School Year

It’s that time of year again when our calendars fill up and months fly by. Whether your children attend school at an on-site location or in the comfort of your own home - we need to be covering them and their year ahead in prayer. Here are 5 things you can pray over your growing world changers:

  1. THAT THEY WOULD WALK CLOSELY WITH GOD

Philippians 3:8 “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord”

A relationship with God is so much more than a Sunday morning experience. It is a daily walk that will benefit our kids tremendously. He is the answer to any question they could ever have. Pray that their ears would be sensitive to His voice and their hearts sensitive to His leading.

2. THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST

1 Corinthians 2:16 “But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”

We serve a God who promises to pour out a generous serving of wisdom if we would only ask Him for it. Pray that they would learn to rely on the voice of wisdom in every situation and circumstance - molding them through practice into problem solvers instead of problem creators.

3. THAT THEY WOULD EXPERIENCE GOD’S PROVISION AND PROTECTION

Psalm 37:25 “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.”

The miracles of the Bible have no age restriction. Every day your children can see a miracle in front of their eyes. Pray that they would have uncommon favor before God and man - putting them in a place of supernatural success.

4. THAT THEY WOULD DISCOVER THEIR GIFTS AND TALENTS

1 Peter 4:10 “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

Lack of purpose has taken so many out of the runnings for a fulfilled life. This will never be your children’s story in Jesus’ Name. Pray that this would be the year they become aware of whatever gifts and talents they have on the inside of them. Pray that they begin to develop a passion and a desire to use these to serve both God and others.

5. THAT THEY WOULD RECEIVE A CONVICTION FOR THEIR GENERATION

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Jesus is coming soon. Pray that your children will live with an eternity mindset - that their eyes will be opened to the mission field that is around them and that they will operate in the boldness promised to them from the presence of the Holy Spirit.
